Our Mission

My Choice My Support (MCMS) commenced operations in 2017. We were founded as an independent entity by Community Connections for Inclusion, with whom we share our office space and management teams. MCMS is a not-for-profit organisation run by a small, dedicated team proudly offering personalised support services to people with a disability.

Our objective is for the people we support to exercise personal choice and control over the services they receive with MCMS, so that everybody has an experience tailored to their individual goals and needs.

Our Values

MCMS operates across the ACT, and we also offer ad hoc services to people who are visiting Canberra and would like temporary support services during their stay.

At My Choice My Support, we are deeply committed to a rights-based approach to supporting people with disability.

We aim to employ and support through professional development, support workers whose values align with those of the organisation.

We are respectful.

We are responsive.

We build positive relationships.

We recognise individuality.

We celebrate diversity.

We aim for inclusion.

We act with integrity.

Our Staff

  • What We Do

My Choice My Support links people with a disability to fully-qualified support workers who will provide services within the person’s home and in the community. We aim to connect people based on mutual interests and personalities as well as the necessary skill sets required to meet individual support needs. We understand the importance of taking a person-centred approach to service delivery so that people with a disability receive the highest quality support.

Once participants and support workers are connected, rosters are set up and managed by the MCMS office staff so that participants and/or family members do not have to take on the administrative role involved in the service.

MCMS ensures that all staff maintain current industry requirements such as Working With Vulnerable People, NDIS Worker Screening clearance and First Aid certification. Furthermore, we offer ongoing specialised training to our support workers to ensure that they are always fully equipped to deliver support safely and to the highest standard.
